Middle Temple – New Autumn Winter menu available now

With the change of seasons comes the new banqueting menu now available at Middle Temple.

Think of food that appeals on a crisp, cold winter’s day, and images of rich, earthy game, drenched in a silky smooth sauce spring to mind, all accompanied by the sweetness of root vegetables – roasted beets, parsnips and pumpkins all lending colour and taste to the autumnal palette.

The beautiful seasonal produce for this menu has been carefully selected from our suppliers, all sourced to be fresh, ethically produced and utterly delicious.

You’re sure to find those tasty, traditional favourites you crave in winter months on the new menu – confit duck leg, or pan-roasted grouse, roasted halibut or delicate diver scallops – but there are also some delicious twists to tempt your tastebuds with some exciting flavours and styles. Why not try the delicately roasted wood pigeon to start? Served with a smooth celeriac puree, a tang of braised chicory and finished with a sweet burst of pomegranate molasses, it’s a perfect way to start your winter feast.

For a main course, our particular favourite has to be the cocoa-dusted venison – a perfect partnership, enhanced even further by the rich coffee jus. Served with a creamy potato puree, it’s lifted with a zing of salsify and the caramel sweetness of slow roasted shallots. Mouth-watering!

Seasonal flavours have also found their way into the dessert menu. What would a winter menu be without a crumble? Ours balances the sharpness of Bramley apples with the sweetness of quince and the earthiness of walnuts, perfectly finished with cinnamon ice-cream. Or go for something completely different, and try our new, spiced pumpkin doughnut, with a coffee glaze and sweet dulce de leche ice-cream. Feeling tempted yet?
