British Food Fortnight at Middle Temple Hall

Join in the celebration of British food as we pay tribute to the diversely delicious range of food that Britain produces. For the next fortnight we’ll be offering a tempting menu of British classics, using the best of hand-picked produce from our local, independent suppliers.

Executive Chef Jordan recommends: “There are some really classic British dishes on offer over the fortnight. The cider and apple roasted British pork shoulder on Thursday has a fantastic flavour, uses some great British produce, and is perfect for the changing seasons.”

A different selection of dishes will be available each day, with classics ranging from Toad in the Hole with deliciously caramelised onion gravy, Shepherds Pie topped with a cheddar crust, and the best of Friday traditions – beer battered fish with a creamy tartare sauce.

The Carvery will also be showcasing some fantastic seasonal British meats over the fortnight; among our favourites are a pepper-crusted loin of Venison on Wednesday this week, and a garlic and herb crusted rack of lamb, which will be available on Thursday 10th October.

Eat with the seasons

Eating British foods that are in season is the best way to get the best of the nutrients, minerals and trace elements that we need at particular times of the year. Grouse and venison are particularly good at this time of year, as well as squashes and field mushrooms, apples, damsons and plums.
