Middle Temple’s pop-up champagne bar opens for the summer season

It’s summer time in the city which means lots of hustle and bustle and an array of beautiful pop-ups bars appearing across London, none so more stylish and tasteful than the champagne bar at Middle Temple.

Back for its third season, the outdoor bar is situated in the elegant Fountain Court, nestled next to the impressive entrance to Middle Temple. Fountain Court has been a feature at Middle Temple for centuries and is depicted in an early painting of the Inn by Joseph Nichols from 1738.

The champagne bar is perfect for post-work drinks, catching up with friends, celebrations, or just a little self-indulgence, and this exalted and historical venue provides a stunning backdrop and an air of sophistication to any evening out. Middle Temple is located on the bank of the Thames just a few minutes from Fleet Street, The Strand and Embankment, and provides a tranquil and idyllic setting from which to escape the daily grind.

Customers can indulge their taste buds with a glass or two of the award-winning Joseph Perrier Cuvée Royale Brut NV or Joseph Perrier Rosé Brut NV, accompanied by delicious sharing-platters and a selection of local English cheeses. Wine, beer and soft drinks are also available.

Weather permitting the champagne bar is open every Thursday and Friday 5pm – 9pm in May, June and July.

“We’ve had a lot of success with the champagne bar in the last two years and we’re delighted to open for business again this month,” said Anne Atkinson, head of catering and events at Middle Temple. “It really is the most beautiful and peaceful setting for a glass of bubbles on a warm summer evening.”

Martin Gamman M.W., UK Director for Champagne Joseph Perrier said, “Fountain Court, outside Middle Temple is a wonderful place to be, and enjoying a glass of Joseph Perrier there in the post-work sunshine ought to be on everyone's must-do list!”

Joseph Perrier Champagne was founded in 1825 and is one of the few Grande Marque champagne houses still in private ownership. With wonderfully situated vineyards overlooking Epernay, the champagnes produced from the grapes of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier are celebrated for their quality, reputation and tradition.
